Description - Description: Since 2014, Ghent University has had a water treatment plant for the wastewater from the Veterinary Medicine campus in Merelbeke. This water treatment plant treats both domestic wastewater (sanitary, restaurant) and industrial wastewater from laboratories and stables. This concerns biological water purification with a membrane bioreactor and nutrient removal.
