Description - Description: The subject of acquisition is rotary microtomes (water slides), which are used to make paraffin sections from tissue samples. Paraffin sections are stained and examined by a pathologist. The rotary microtome is an essential part of the o peration of the pathology laboratory, and due to the large sample volumes and therefore the degree of use, the equipment wears out and must be replaced at regular intervals.Rotary microtomes are used in the units of the pathology areas of Meilahti, Hyvinkää, Jorvi, Kotka and Lappeenranta.In 2024, one (1) rotary microtome will be acquired.
