Description - Description: Since 2008, the Central Animal Testing Service (CDP), part of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), has been using three sterilizers, with a fourth added in 2024. These devices, which are maintained by the UMCG/Medical Technolo gy department, suffer from outdated and difficult to replace parts. The current systems are based on steam, however, with the announced phase-out of the central steam supply at the UMCG by 2028, and increasing maintenance problems, a sustainable and reliable replacement is necessary.
